You always want to make sure that your Samurai Sam’s Teriyaki Grill® receives consistent high ratings for food safety by passing your city’s health inspections. This can be accomplished by making sure you and your employees receive safety training and continue to follow the best safety practices for food service at all times.
SUPPORT AND TRAINING
Kahala Brands™, the parent company of Samurai Sam’s®, provides their franchisees with access to food safety support and training. This includes online access to the National Restaurant Association’s ServSafe® Food manager training program.
Adhering to practices that help ensure the safety of the food you serve is an ongoing process that keeps your customers and your employees safer. While you will have regularly scheduled inspections throughout the year, you are always subject to unannounced inspections. It is important to train your employees and create a culture of food safety in your restaurant to be followed at all times.
EXAMPLES OF FOOD SAFETY INFRACTIONS
Crucial safety infractions that create immediate health hazards should always be addressed quickly, whether you have an upcoming inspection or not. These include:
- Unsafe water supplies
- Pest infestations, e.g. flies, rodents, cockroaches
- Food contamination
- Needed repairs to dishwashers and refrigeration
- Keeping surfaces and equipment that touch food cleaned and sanitized
- Dirty bathrooms
- Garbage not properly stored
- Refrigerators and freezers with missing thermometers
As a Samurai Sam’s Teriyaki Grill franchise owner, you will learn the importance of food safety during your training at the Kahala Training & Education Center (KTEC). You will also take the ServSafe certification exam during your training at KTEC.
