THE SAMURAI SAM’S TERIYAKI GRILL® STORY
Inspired by the mom and pop teriyaki shops in his hometown of Seattle, the founder opened his first Samurai Sam’s Teriyaki Grill® restaurant in Scottsdale, Arizona in 1994. His goal was to serve fast, fresh and healthy Japanese dishes using the highest quality ingredients at an affordable price. So he brought that idea to Arizona and executed it wonderfully.
BEGINNINGS OF OUR JAPANESE FOOD FRANCHISE
Our popular Yakisoba and rice bowls, topped with marinated, grilled steak or chicken, fresh vegetables and our signature teriyaki sauce, quickly satisfied our customers seeking a healthy alternative to ordinary fast food. Customer’s quickly tasted the difference of fresh wok’d vegetables, premium grilled meats and steamed rice made in our meals.
In 2003, Samurai Sam’s Teriyaki Grill® joined the Kahala Brands family where the brand began leveraging the experience and support of one of the world’s largest franchisors.
Our dedicated sales, marketing, research & development, purchasing, distribution, training and operations teams are always available to help our Samurai Sam’s Teriyaki Grill® franchise owners. This level of support is unique among franchisors, raising Kahala Brands above its competitors. We want franchisees to be in business for themselves but not by themselves, hence our community philosophy of support, trust and independence through interdependence.
